Apples to apples: Adding third-party analytics tracking

Belinda Alzner -

If you're looking to measure your ScribbleLive content's performance relative to the rest of your website, you can add third-party analytics tracking (Google Analytics, Omniture, etc.) to your white label template page.

(Of course, ScribbleLive has its own built-in analytics that can offer even more insight into your content, your audience and how the latter interacts with the former.)

Example: Google Analytics

The Google Analytics tracking code needs to be installed in the head of the template page your white label references. (What is a white label and how do you set it up? Check this article.) If auto-updates are enabled on your white label template, you can add the tracking code and it will be reflected within 5–10 minutes when ScribbleLive scrapes your template next.

Google has directions for adding this tracking code (plus about a million other cool tips and tricks for using GA to its fullest potential). Check it out here.
