Getting your content in front of an audience

Belinda Alzner -

What do you want to publish? How do you want to get it there?

All content created in ScribbleLive can be published in a number of ways. First, you'll need to choose your experience. This will determine in part how you will get the content created in Scribble to your audience. Once you've done that, there are two main ways that you'll deliver this to your audience.

What is a white label (AKA Microsite)?

ScribbleLive can host a white label, or Microsite, (or multiple white labels!) for your brand or organization that all content produced in ScribbleLive can be published to—think of it as a microsite of your own site, that will host all of your engaging content. White labels are fully indexable, making them a great option for driving great SEO with great content.

How do I set one up?

The white label look-and-feel is completely controlled by you. Please see this how-to for getting your white label up and running. Note that once we have all of the information we need from you, it will take approximately ten business days for our implementation team to complete your white label.

White labels have to be purchased from your account executive. Should you wish to purchase additional white labels, no worries—just drop us a line at support@scribblelive.com and we will get you in touch with your exec.

How do I get my content on my white label?

When producing a stream or article, you will be asked if you want to connect the content to your white label. Should you connect it, you'll be given a permalink that can be shared. A piece of content can be connected and disconnected from your white label as often as you like, but keep in mind that if you have circulated or promoted the content and disconnect content from your white label, the URL will lead to a dead link.

Note that streams are currently the only experience available on the white label at the moment

Check out our how-to articles on working with your white label.

Some examples & best practices

Toronto International Film Festival built a custom white label for festival coverage and behind-the-scenes access to the stars, the films and the stories.

Pro tip: Build your white label into your main nav so that all of the content on it is accessible to your regular website audience.

What is an embed?

You can embed any of our experiences (stream, pinboard, timeline, content atom) onto any existing page using embed codes that we provide to you. Just create a Stream or Article, and grab the embed code for the appropriate experience.

How do I set one up?

Embeds can be set up from the Admin > Manage Templates section of your account. You can create as many templates as you like and customize them with HTML, CSS and JavaScript to make a truly unique experience.

How do I embed content in my site?

When producing content, you will be able to get an embed code. See the how-to articles for finding embed codes for:

Things to keep in mind

All of ScribbleLive's embed codes use JavaScript to get the experience on the page. This allows our technology to communicate better with the page and is what allows the experiences to become responsive as the page size scales down for different devices.

Some content management systems, though, will strip JavaScript for security purposes. Scribble does offer an iframe version of the embed for the stream experience only. Should you run into this issue but would like to use our experiences that are only offered via JavaScript please talk to your system administrator to configure your CMS to accept our script tags.
